Concrete slabs, concrete walls and other types of concrete structures may hide problems and unknown hazards. Without a full understanding of these potential obstacles, the structural integrity of the building can be compromised. Mapping concrete reinforcing bar (rebar), hidden live electric utilities and post tension cables in advance of concrete saw cutting assures safety and avoids costly damage.

Utility Survey operates the latest high resolution StructureScan® GPR systems for non-destructive investigations of concrete structures. This technology requires only single sided access and is faster, much less expensive, safer, and more versatile than x-ray technology.

Our concrete investigations include:

• Scanning the project area (floors, slabs, walls, columns, and beams) prior to cutting, drilling, or coring.
• Locating rebar, mesh, post-tension cable, conduits (both metal conduit and PVC conduit).
• Detecting voids and fractures and determining slab thickness.
